When I was a young girl, disappearing into a book, fully engrossed and engaged, was the dream. That sensibility continued to motivate me as a reader and it seemed to happen all the time. Most books I picked up seemed to gripme immediately, the rest of the world disappearing — just me and the book. Yet today, attaining that reading nirvana seems elusive.The other day, the enormity of the obvious answer — social media, the onslaught of distractions — was confirmed. I had an hour between meetings and went to a beautiful old school club that doesn’t allow laptops or phones in their public rooms. There is a lovely library in the building, and I had plenty of reading with me (the print kind!). An hour later, I was amazed at how refreshed and content I was. My ability to be absorbed was exponential! Now, the important question is how do we make that kind of reverie exist everyday in our lives?Each of us can find a different solution. For example, when I sit down to read a book, I put my devices in another room. This doesn’t sound like much, but I was amazed how it took me a bit not to be fidgety about being device-less — but then it works.Now, the super obvious — when I get into bed, my favorite time to read — no screen time! These little changes have given me back some of that delicious sensation of being enveloped by a story. Of course, the next thing you need is the perfect book. When you purchase a subscription, we ask you or the reader to complete a short reading profile. We want to know your favorite genres and interests. Then, we select just the right book, hand wrap it with care, and mail it to your doorstep. All subscriptions include FREE shipping!

- Prices start at just $105 for an adult subscription.
- Every book is hand-selected and gift wrapped with care.
- Shipping is FREE and books can be exchanged at no additional cost.
Sending a gift? At checkout, you can print your own gift card for the recipient. This will also be included in your order confirmation. Alternatively, you can choose to have us send a quality custom gift card directly to the recipient (via USPS). These cards contain the recipients’ gift code used to claim their gift.
